Millwall confirm signing of new winger after delay
Millwall have completed the signing of Montpellier winger Yanis Issoufou after FIFA confirmed the player’s international clearance could be granted.
The 19-year-old has joined the Lions on a long-term contract and becomes the club’s 13th signing of the summer transfer window.
The winger progressed through Montpellier’s academy, featuring for the club’s Under-19 and B teams before breaking into the first team.
Issoufou scored six goals last season and has already made four appearances in the 2026-27 campaign, finding the net once.
Millwall’s director of football Steve Gallen believes the young winger has the attributes to develop into an important player for the club.
“We’re excited to add Yanis to our squad,” Gallen said.
“He’s a young, quick, direct winger that likes to get in the box and run in behind. We believe he is a player who can grow in a positive trajectory in the coming years and we’re excited to see what he can add to the team in the long term.
“Yanis is still only 19 years old. He will need patience from us all to adapt to a new league, city and country, and I know everyone associated with the club will help him settle.
