Millwall boss eases injury fears after beating Cambridge

Millwall manager Alex Neil expects Raees Bangura-Williams to be fit for the weekend after he was forced off during the Lions’ 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Cambridge United.

Bangura-Williams made his first start of the season at the Abbey Stadium but was replaced by Ajay Matthews in the 78th minute.

Neil revealed the 22-year-old was withdrawn because of cramp rather than a more serious injury.

“I believe it’s a cramp,” Neil told Southwark News. “I’ve spoken to him. It’s nothing sinister, certainly at this stage.

“So I think he should be okay.”
