Milan stand firm on Leao valuation after six-hour Mendes meeting
Super agent Jorge Mendes was at Casa Milan for a round of talks that lasted over six hours on Wednesday according to reports in Italy, but there has not been any movement from the Milan camp on an asking price for winger Rafael Leao, who is still valued at €50m.
Milan are desperately trying to find a buyer for Leao, who has spent the last seven years in San Siro and was part of the Rossoneri side that won the club’s last Scudetto in 2021-22.
Leao had made it clear at the end of the disappointing 2025-26 campaign that he was keen to try a new adventure abroad, but at this stage of the transfer window, a move away from San Siro has not yet materialised.
Mendes working on Leao sale, Milan still want €50m
Meanwhile, Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes was at Milan’s headquarters for several hours on Wednesday afternoon and evening as the Rossoneri hashed out the final details of a deal for Diego Moreira, whose signing was announced last night.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, arranging the final details of Moreira’s transfer took slightly longer than expected, which is potentially why Mendes was at Casa Milan for so long on Wednesday.
There have also been suggestions, however, that Milan are working in partnership with Mendes to arrange the sale of Leao. Mendes and Milan have worked together on several deals over the last few years, including the recent signings of Moreira, Goncalo Ramos and Joao Felix.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Mendes is none at work in an attempt to find an offer that satisfies Milan’s requests. The Rossoneri are still seeking a €50m fee for Leao, and Thursday’s report claims that Galatasaray are the club that have come closest to matching the asking price, but they have offered just above the €40m mark.
