Manchester City Women boss Andree Jeglertz insists it has been business as usual for his side, despite the club being found guilty of serious Premier League financial rule breaches.

Jeglertz was speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League and insisted the women’s team had remained fully focused on preparations for the game.

“We have been training like normal, we have been doing what we can affect and that’s preparation for the game tomorrow and taking care of the last result we had in the weekend, and so on and so on,” he said.

“We haven’t changed anything, we just keep on doing everything we normally do.”

“We can’t talk about it, we don’t need to talk about anything else at the moment,” he added.

Former City men’s boss Pep Guardiola has since publicly backed the club, but Jeglertz said his own attention remained firmly on his responsibilities with the women’s team.

“I’m working [at] this club now, and that’s definitely what I’m hired for and working with, for sure,” he said.

“Of course for me the most important thing is to live in the here and now.

“That means that my job at the moment is to prepare the team for the coming game, take care of the everyday environment.

“What is happening around us, I can’t do anything about that, I can’t affect that, it’s not affecting me at the moment.”
