The Merengues' goalkeeper expressed his admiration for Mourinho's style

Real Madrid's Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has spoken about his decisive pass to Moroccan teammate Brahim Diaz, the assist that settled a 1-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday and clinched the friendly Teresa Herrera Trophy at the Abanca Riazor stadium.

Asked about the moment that decided the game, Lunin said: "It happens naturally. When you get hold of the ball or make a save, you always try to play it quickly. In the end, I did not know that Brahim (Diaz) was this fast."

The keeper also reflected on the first weeks of pre-season under Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho. "It was enthusiastic, very intense and gruelling, but we love that a lot, honestly," he said.

Diaz won it for Real off Lunin's long ball, latching onto the pass from the middle of the pitch and driving towards the opposition box before finishing off the move. It was Real's tenth Teresa Herrera title.

Starting for the second match running after the clash with Hungary's Ferencvaros (2-1), Diaz came off at the start of the second half against La Coruna, making way for young forward Mario Rivas.
