Luis Enrique immediately drops Ousmane Dembélé from the PSG squad

Luis Enrique has dropped Ousmane Dembélé from the Paris Saint-Germain squad with immediate effect. The Frenchman does not have to report back until Monday, according to several French media outlets including RMC.

Dembélé was substituted at half-time in Sunday's match between Stade Rennes and PSG (2-2). The forward was far from happy about it.

Having cut short his holiday after the World Cup to join Luis Enrique's side as quickly as possible, he has now been told to take things easy for a while by the Spanish manager.

The Ballon d'Or winner does not have to appear on the training pitch on Wednesday and Thursday, and he will also not be part of the squad to face LOSC Lille on Friday.

French media insist there is no question of a damaged relationship, though. Enrique and Dembélé have talked it through.

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia was not the only player taken off after 45 minutes on Sunday. He too had to make way and was replaced by Mika Godts.
