Real Madrid star attacking midfielder Jude Bellingham has been arguably the team's best player this season, scoring goals, creating chances, and progressing play while providing great defensive pressing up front to help the rest of the attack.

Los Blancos would not have won three of their first four games of the La Liga season without Bellingham, who is the team's most consistent and well rounded player. And playing Jude close up the pitch to Kylian Mbappe has aided the team's attack, as Jude is a great source of goals in the box with his aerial presence, was was evidenced by his crucial headed goal in the opening win over Espanyol.

However, Real Madrid are suffering badly behind him in the middle of the park. Fede Valverde has been a ghost, for the most part, to start the season, and only Bernardo Silva is providing enough quality in terms of moving the ball up the pitch and winning possession in front of the center backs, who have been under a lot of duress this season.

Brahim Diaz could start as the No. 10

Therefore, according to a report from Diario AS, via Madrid Xtra, Jose Mourinho is thinking of doing what his predecessors did and playing Jude Bellingham in a deeper midfield role with Brahim Diaz then starting ahead of him as a No. 10.

Whlie it is true that Real Madrid have been terrible in midfield to start the season and playing Jude in a 6 or an 8 would help the team, starting Brahim instead of moving Arda Guler into his most natural postiion as a 10 sounds like a terrible idea.

Between the two players, Yan Diomande makes more of an impact than Brahim, and there is a reason why Real Madrid spent 140 million euros on him this past summer transfer window. With alll due respect to Brahim, who is a decent player, Diomande is simply a totally different caliber of player, and it would make a lot more sense for Real Madrid to move Guler into the 10, Diomande on the right wing, and then Jude back if that is the plan to help the midfield.

England also saw great performances from Bellingham in the 10 but still moved him back into the 6 or 8 role in order to shore up their entire team. And in the end, Jude still crashed the box and got his goals. So that's not the problem. The problem is rolling with Brahim and losing the goals, because, well, unlike England, Real Madrid don't have a scorer like Morgan Rogers to take his place behind the striker.
