Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle says Tino Livramento is making progress in his recovery from injury but insists he will not rush him back into action.

Livramento has returned to partial training, though Jaissle says it remains too early to determine when the defender will be ready to make his comeback.

“It is too early to say on Tino,” Jaissle said. “He was partially involved [in training] so we need to be smart with his progress now.

“We need to wait until he is 100 per cent ready. He has huge potential, and we can’t wait to have him back.”

Jaissle also confirmed that midfielder Joelinton faces another couple of weeks on the sidelines.

“Joelinton is out for a couple of weeks,” he added. “I am really confident that he will be back as soon as possible.”

The Magpies take on Millwall in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
