How to watch NYCFC vs New England Revolution for the second time in a few weeks
If fans are asking whether New York City FC and the New England Revolution just met, then that would be correct. The teams just met on August 23, and that game ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to James Sands. Now, the two will meet in Queens as the Pigeons try to end the winless streak and earn all three points against New England.
But, like last time, it will not be easy. The Revolution has won and lost a match since the last meeting, while NYCFC had two more draws. This included a 0-0 draw with Nashville SC, which is not terrible since the best team in Major League Soccer is tough to play. With that said, though, the need for wins is immense, especially entering the last couple of months of the regular season. The Bronx side cannot make the postseason if they continue not to win.
Moreover, this is New York City. The Pigeons want not only to make the postseason; they want to be one of the best. Fans have high expectations. Seventh place is not good enough, even with all of the injuries that have plagued the players in 2026. The results should be better.
NYCFC is capable of beating New England. What has hurt them this season, and yes, this has been mentioned numerous times, are the self-inflicted mistakes, errors, and wounds. In other words, the only team that will extend this current six-match Major League Soccer streak is NYCFC.

For the first time since 2017, former NYCFC player Jack Harrison will return to the Big Apple. He signed with New England, and it is a little sad that he did not return home to his first professional club. Yet, the Queens side did not have an open Designated Player contract available. Plus, the winger has ties to the area because he went to high school in Massachusetts. Therefore, ideally, he will receive a warm welcome back.
