‘He’d be interested’ – Greg Taylor Celtic return claim emerges
Greg Taylor would be open to making a return to Celtic this summer as the Hoops look to strengthen their options at left-back.
The Scotland international left the Hoops for PAOK on a free transfer last year following the arrival of Kieran Tierney but has since fallen out of favour in Thessaloniki.
Celtic are back in the market for cover on the left after deciding against signing Marcelo Saracchi permanently following his loan spell.
And Mark Guidi believes Taylor is waiting for firm offers as he looks to return to the UK, with a second spell at Celtic potentially appealing to the defender.
Guidi said on the Go Radio Football Show: “I think Greg Taylor wants to come home, as in, back to the UK.
“I think if he could come back to Celtic, he’d be interested.
“I think there’s a bit of interest from Celtic.
“I don’t really think he’s got many concrete offers on the table, so right now, he’s there for the taking, if you like.
“I wouldn’t have a problem with it at all. What Celtic need to do – because the market’s been open for a month, Celtic have been back training for six weeks, Martin wanted more in the door…
“You need to just start ticking off your problems. Ticking off your to-do list. If Greg Taylor’s going to tick off that left-back to-do list, get it done.
“Why wait? Just get it done, and that’s one less headache, one less problem. Get it done in the next 48 hours before the European window closes.”
