Feyenoord line-up: Van Bronckhorst surprises with choice of left winger

Feyenoord begin their Champions League campaign away to FC Barcelona on Wednesday. Giovanni van Bronckhorst has now named his side and sprung a surprise with his choice on the left wing.

Tjark Ernst starts in goal for the Rotterdam club. Givairo Read, Jeremiah St. Juste, Tsuyoshi Watanabe and Mika Mármol line up in defence from right to left at Spotify Camp Nou.

In midfield, Van Bronckhorst sticks with familiar names: Gjivai Zechiël, Charles Vanhoutte and Luciano Valente. Oussama Targhalline will hope to get on from the bench in Barcelona.

On the right of the front three, Hadj Moussa comes in after his move to Al-Ittihad collapsed and he missed the match against NEC because he had twice arrived late. Nacho Ferri leads the line, while Javi López starts nominally on the left wing.

Reiss Nelson still does not have a work permit, so he is absent from the Feyenoord squad. Jerayno Schalken, who impressed against NEC, has travelled to Spain with Van Bronckhorst.
