Eustace confirms another Derby County injury blow ahead of West Brom game

Derby County striker Rhian Brewster will be unavailable for at least the next two matches, after sustaining a concussion against West Ham over the weekend.

The former Liverpool man was substituted after just 22 minutes of Derby’s 3-0 defeat at the London Stadium, and is now set to miss the Rams’ home matches against West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City, manager John Eustace has confirmed.

“We’re trying to build his fitness up for sure, so to lose him again for a couple of games is a blow, but it gives somebody else an opportunity,” Eustace said, ahead of Tuesday’s match against The Baggies.

“He’s feeling a lot better. He was really groggy on Saturday night; he felt dizzy and sick during the game,” he told BBC Radio Derby.

“It is a big blow because I was really excited to give him a run of games. He’s a top performer at this level and needs to get fit and get games under his belt.”
