End of the saga: Núñez leaves Al-Hilal on loan

Al-Hilal have confirmed the departure of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez, ending a long saga over his future before the summer window shuts.

Nunez arrived at Al-Hilal last summer. He never convinced, slipping out of Italian manager Simone Inzaghi's plans.

According to an official statement, the club have agreed to loan Nunez to Al-Diriyah, newly promoted to the Roshn Saudi Pro League.

The deal caps a busy window for Al-Diriyah, who have already snapped up France's Enzo Millot from Al-Ahli and veteran Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

Only days ago, reports linked Nunez with a switch to Turkey's Trabzonspor, where he would have reunited with his former Liverpool team-mate, Egypt's Mohamed Salah.
