CM: Five-day deadline set as Bondo’s agents submit reinstatement request to Milan

The situation surrounding midfielder Warren Bondo is threatening to get ugly, with his lawyers emailing the club to request reinstatement.

Bondo is one of a few players that was designated as surplus to requirements by the new head coach Ruben Amorim. Despite links with clubs in France, Turkey and even in Italy, the Frenchman was unable to secure an exit before the window closed.

So, what happens now? Well, Calciomercato.com report that Bondo’s lawyers sent a certified email to Milan on Thursday with a formal request to reinstate the player. In other words, he must be reintroduced to the fold, like Fikayo Tomori has been, or they will take the matter further.

Bondo returned from a dry loan at Cremonese and wasn’t called up for the senior training camp by Amorim because he was not deemed a part of the project. After training alone throughout the summer, he has now asked to train with the rest of his team-mates.

Milan have five days to respond to the official request from Bondo and his entourage, and will make all the necessary assessments. If the response is negative, the player’s entourage may pursue further legal action.

Bondo remained at Milan because no agreements satisfactory to all parties were reached. Could he now get a second lease of life by force?
