Celtic’s Europa League Fixtures

So to the Europa League task were absolutely nothing can be taken for granted by the players, management and supporters. The Hoops open their campaign at Celtic Park with a home match against Ferencváros on Thursday, 17 September (KO: 8pm). The Hungarian side had some notable results in the Europa League last season under former Celt Robbie Keane, and also won at Celtic Park during the COVID season.

In the heat of Lisbon

Next up is possibly the toughest of all eight matches with a trip to Lisbon, to face Benfica on Thursday 15 October. Hearts were hammered at The Estádio da Luz in the qualifiers so Martin O’Neill will hopefully be looking to bring in some additional signings over the next few days for games like this one.

There’s a chance for some momentum in this Europa League campaign in the next two matches which are both under the lights at Celtic Park.

Both opponents though will present significant challenges. First up is Spanish outfit Celta Vigo (Thursday 22 October) who we played on the Road to Seville then Turkish side Beşiktaş (Thursday 5 November),

On the road again

Celtic are on the road again with two away games before the turn of the year, facing Portuguese cup winners, Torreense on Thursday 26 November and there’s a chance for some winter sunshine for the travelling Celtic support with a trip to Cyprus to take on Omonia on Thursday 10 December.

Into 2027

Moving onto the final two matches of the campaign which will be played in January 2027 and will see a glamour tie at Celtic Park against French giants Marseille on Thursday 21 January before Celtic finish off the league phase campaign of this season’s Europa League with a trip to Belgium to play Tony Bloom’s Union Saint-Gilloise – doesn’t that man still owe us an apology for telling lies about the Celtic support back in May?
