Celtic ‘alerted’ to loan availability of Chelsea wonderkid
Celtic have reportedly been made aware of the availability of Chelsea attacking midfielder Kendry Páez. The Ecuadorean International is expected to depart Stamford Bridge this summer to continue his development.
Journalist Alan Nixon has been picked up stating that Celtic are one of a few clubs that have been alerted to the player’s availability.
Páez emerged as a future star at Independiente del Valle, making 70 senior appearances before joining Chelsea for €10m in 2025. Since then, he has completed loan spells at Strasbourg and River Plate. The Ecuador international made one appearance at the recent FIFA World Cup in North America and Mexico.
It would be interesting to see this one play out, especially given the links to Landon Emenalo. The fullback was said to have been to Lennoxtown and completed a medical before picking up an injury. The trail has gone cold on the fullback but it appears to have been a move that was some way down the line on both the part of Celtic and Chelsea.
James Bell-Walker has close ties with Chelsea and it may be that his new role at Celtic has allowed for a new connection to open up between the London side and the Scottish Champions.
