Liverpool and Tottenham are set to meet in the Carabao Cup for what must be the stand-out tie of this year’s third round.
There’ll surely be a lot of demand for Liverpool vs Tottenham tickets as these two big names meet at Anfield and look to progress in this competition.
It feels particularly important for Spurs to get some silverware this season after consecutive 17th place finishes in the Premier League, and a poor start to the new campaign.
Liverpool, by contrast, might feel it’s worth rotating their side a bit for this game in order to prioritise the Premier League and the Champions League.

It’s hard to know at this point how much new Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola will be tempted to rotate for this game, but it’s certainly a possibility that the fixture schedule would be too much for his squad otherwise.
The Reds have some decent options, with Giorgi Mamardashvili a good cup ‘keeper who could come in so Alisson Becker can rest, while youngsters such as Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha could also benefit from rare opportunities to start.

Tottenham surely need to go all out with their strongest line up here, and they don’t have European football as an excuse.
Roberto De Zerbi isn’t currently grappling with any major injury problems, so it will be all about who’s in the best form and deserving of a place in this tough away fixture.

Liverpool vs Tottenham head-to-head record
Liverpool unsurprisingly have the better record in this fixture, winning 94 games to Tottenham’s 50, while there have been 45 draws.
There’s even recent history between them in this competition, with LFC thrashing Spurs 4-1 on aggregate when they met in the semi-finals in 2025.
Although THFC won that first leg 1-0, it was a very one-sided second game as Liverpool ran riot with a 4-0 win at Anfield to book their place in the final, though they of course then went on to lose to Newcastle United.
Still, it’s been very one-sided between these two teams of late, with that first leg win for Spurs being one of just two victories they’ve enjoyed against the Merseyside giants in the last 20 games, a run stretching back to 2017.
