Camilo Duran set to realise international ‘dream’ after sensational Celtic start

Camilo Duran’s blistering start to life at Celtic is reportedly set to earn the striker his first senior Colombia call-up.

The 24-year-old has made an immediate impact since completing his £5.5million summer switch from Qarabag, scoring six goals in his opening eight appearances for Martin O’Neill’s side.

And according to AS Colombia and Kick journalist Pipe Sierra, the Colombian Football Federation have now informed Celtic of their intention to include Duran in the squad for the upcoming international break.

Colombia are due to face Mexico, Paraguay and Peru, with Duran in line to earn his first senior cap for his country.

The Celtic forward previously represented Colombia at under-20 level but has yet to make a senior international appearance.

Duran recently revealed that breaking into the Colombia squad was one of his major ambitions after moving to Parkhead.

He said: “As everyone knows I came here and my dream is to win a lot of titles,” he said. “And also to go to the Colombian national team, which is my dream.

“I know that if I continue to work this way, I’ll be there soon.”
