There is every likelihood that Bruno Guimarães will get his first Premier League start of the season against Chelsea, and it will teach everything Arsenal fans need to know about how Mikel Arteta plans to use him.

Arteta clearly values versatility in his players, and it's a trait that elevates Arsenal's squad depth. However, it makes predictions hard to come by because, frankly, anything could happen in an Arteta team.

Bruno is a versatile midfielder who assumed multiple roles during his time at Newcastle United. However, the same can be said for Declan Rice and Myles Lewis-Skelly already.

If Bruno Guimarães gets his first Arsenal start of the new season against Chelsea, it will likely be in a more advanced position.

We saw against Aston Villa when he came off the bench, Bruno took on a few advanced positions and he was even involved in the Arsenal box.

Chelsea provides Guimarães with the perfect Arsenal audition

If there's ever a time for Arsenal to win the midfield battle, it's against Chelsea. Moises Caicedo is a doubt for the game, but even if he is fit and plays, he's lost his world-class midfield partner, Enzo Fernández.

The likes of Bruno, Rice, Lewis-Skelly could all run riot against Chelsea. Everybody knows that Chelsea are very attack-heavy, but the rest of their lineup is surprisingly weak for a team who won their opening two games.

The midfield battle is certainly a battle worth keeping an eye on. This is the best Arsenal midfield we've seen in a long time versus the worst Chelsea midfield.

Bruno Guimarães can show Arteta exactly what Arsenal are missing

Last season, Arsenal got a lot of things right. They must have done something to win the Premier League; it's not exactly a groundbreaking discovery.

However, the one gripe that many people had with Arsenal is that they didn't do enough to progress the ball from midfield during open-play.

If they are to improve their link between midfield and attack, then allow Bruno to throw his hat in the ring. It doesn't take any creative onus away from Martin Ødegaard, but it does allow the skipper to get more involved in advanced positions and fulfil his duty by increasing his attacking numbers.

Bruno Guimarães has the chance to make his point to Arsenal

Mikel Arteta is just as fluid as his players are. If he sees something he likes, he will adapt his system to reap all the rewards of it.

With all eyes on Arsenal vs Chelsea this weekend, Bruno could establish his point by staking a claim on the midfield role he prefers.
