Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named as the PFA Player's Player of the Year for the 2025/26 campaign.

Fernandes was named as winner of the prestigious prize on Thursday evening, a recognition of his standout season in the Premier League.

The Portugal international broke the Premier League's single-season assist record last term, after creating 21 goals to help Manchester United to Champions League qualification. His 21 assists eclipsed the previous best of 20 assists in a season, held jointly by Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20).

Fernandes' PFA prize confirms a clean sweep of the Premier League's biggest individual honours.

The 31-year-old had already been recognised as the FWA Footballer of the Year and Premier League Player of the Season. He was also named Manchester United's Player of the Season for a record-breaking fifth time.

Fernandes has become the 10th Manchester United player to win the PFA Player of the Year, recognised as the greatest individual honour in English football.

He's the first Manchester United player to be voted the league's best by their fellow professionals for 16 years, with Wayne Rooney having been the most recent recipient in 2009/10.

Two Manchester United players have won the award twice, with Mark Hughes taking the honour in 1989 and 1991, and Cristiano Ronaldo winning successive awards in 2007 and 2008.
