Bolton boss Schumacher gives update on defensive injury problems ahead of West Ham game
Bolton Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher is facing a selection headache at right-back ahead of Tuesday’s clash with West Ham after Lewis Brunt joined Luca Stephenson on the injury list.
Brunt limped off late in Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Millwall and could now face a spell on the sidelines, leaving Gaizka Larrazabal as Bolton’s only proper right-back available.
Larrazabal was left out of the squad at The Den after being substituted at half-time in the midweek defeat to Sheffield United but is available to return against the Hammers.
“Larra should be fine for Tuesday night,” Schumacher told the Bolton News.
“Luca is only just jogging on the grass a couple of days ago so he will still be a little while. He won’t be available until after the international break.
“Larra wasn’t injured, we just wanted to get Theo [Bair] as an extra attacking player on the bench and he was the one that missed out on the matchday squad.
“He is fine, though, and available for Tuesday.”
