Bojan Miovski Rangers twist as former agent says 'one detail can stop everything'
Bojan Miovski's former agent posted a cryptic message about the reality of deadline day just days before the Rangers striker confirmed he was no longer represented by a football agency.
Petar Tomovski, who represented Miovski at the time, took to LinkedIn as the transfer window entered its final hours with a message about the complexity of getting deals over the line.
"The last 48 hours of a transfer window are a different world," Tomovski wrote.
“From the outside, a transfer can look simple: Club wants player. Player wants club. Agree the fee. Done.
“In reality, some of the most difficult deals are the ones where everyone actually wants the transfer to happen. One detail can stop everything.
“The selling club needs a replacement first. The buying club changes the structure of the deal. Personal terms need adjusting. Agent commissions, bonuses or payment schedules are still open. Another club enters the race. And suddenly, a deal that looked 90% done is gone.
“After many years working in football, one thing is clear to me: In the final days of the window, relationships, communication and the ability to find solutions quickly can be just as important as the quality of the player.
“Deadline day is not only about finding players. It is about finding solutions.”
Miovski linked with Ibrox exit
The message came against the backdrop of uncertainty surrounding Miovski's own Rangers future.
The North Macedonia international had been linked with a potential move away from Ibrox during the closing stages of the window, with LASK, Feyenoord and Genclerbirligi among the clubs associated with the striker.
Miovski ultimately remained at Rangers after no deal was completed before the Scottish deadline.
But Tomovski's comments now make for particularly interesting reading following a development which emerged days later.
Miovski publicly confirmed that he was no longer represented by any football agent or agency and said he would personally manage matters relating to his professional career and future.
The timing does not establish that the two events were directly connected, and there is no confirmation of what led to the change in Miovski's representation.
However, Tomovski's comments were published during precisely the period he was describing, the frantic final 48 hours when negotiations can change rapidly and seemingly straightforward deals can fall apart.
The former representative also stressed the importance of relationships, communication and finding solutions quickly during the final days of a transfer window.
Miovski current situation
Miovski's own situation was particularly notable given his limited involvement under Derek McInnes.
The Rangers striker came off the bench for the final 10 minutes of the 2-1 win over Falkirk, with the appearance coming during the period when his future was still being discussed, before being omitted from Saturday's squad as the Gers defeated Motherwell at Ibrox, with Lawrence Shankland starting up front and Ryan Naderi and new signing Kevin Kelsy coming off the bench.
Tomovski's deadline-day message therefore arrived at a time when Miovski remained a potential transfer candidate while also featuring for Rangers.
No move materialised, however, and Miovski remained at Ibrox beyond the Scottish deadline.
His subsequent announcement regarding his representation adds another layer to what was already an intriguing end to the window.
Miovski said: "I would like to confirm that I am currently not represented by any football agent or agency.
"For the time being, I will personally manage all matters relating to my professional career and future."
He also stated that enquiries regarding his professional career or future opportunities should be directed exclusively to him.
That wording is notable given the transfer interest which had surrounded him in the days before the deadline.
He has made only three substitute appearances this season, totalling 40 minutes but for now, the striker remains a Rangers player with three years left on his contract.
Exactly what happened behind the scenes between Miovski and his former representatives is not known.
But Tomovski's deadline-day message about deals collapsing over small details, changing circumstances and the importance of finding solutions now sits alongside Miovski's decision to take control of his own future.
It provides an intriguing insight into just how complicated the final hours of the transfer window can become.
