Bojan Miovski handed international blow as North Macedonia boss hints at changes
Rangers striker Bojan Miovski could be dropped by North Macedonia boss Goce Sedloski for tonight’s Nations League group stage clash with Slovenia.
Miovski started the 3-0 defeat to Switzerland on Saturday but was replaced after 55 minutes, with Azer Omeragic introduced in his place.
The Rangers forward has endured a difficult spell in front of goal for his country, who have now gone 517 minutes without scoring across all competitions.
Miovski's last international goal came in November 2025 during the 7-1 defeat to Wales, despite having established himself as an important player for the national side.
Rangers striker could face Macedonia axe
Sedloski has now hinted that changes will be made to his starting line-up as North Macedonia look to respond against Slovenia.
The manager insists his players must show greater character after their disappointing display against Switzerland.
“We thoroughly analysed the match against Switzerland and know where we need to correct our mistakes,” Sedloski said.
“The players are ready and I expect maximum commitment from everyone. Slovenia are a quality national team; they played at the last European Championship and deserve the utmost respect.
“There will be some changes to the lineup in several areas. We have an excellent squad, a combination of young and experienced footballers. The atmosphere is good and we are all motivated to play better.
“I am responsible for selecting the players, but I expect them to show greater quality and character on the pitch.
“Slovenia must not be underestimated, and we have to be fully prepared.”
Sedloski has not specifically confirmed that Miovski will be dropped, but his comments leave the Rangers striker facing a wait to discover whether he will retain his starting place.
The 27-year-old has won 42 caps for North Macedonia, scoring nine goals and providing five assists during his international career.

His recent form for Rangers, however, has offered him a route back into his coaches thinking.
Miovski scored a dramatic late winner in Rangers' 1-0 victory over St Mirren, producing an important moment for Derek McInnes' side ahead of back-to-back Old Firm wins over Celtic.
Having fallen to fifth choice forward and linked with a deadline day exit from Ibrox, the former Aberdeen striker took his chance in the team due to injuries to Youssef Chermiti and captain Lawrence Shankland to score a vital goal against the Buddies to keep the Gers on Celtic’s coat tails in the Scottish Premiership title race.
Croatian goalkeeper Ivor Pandur said “nobody deserves it more” than Miovski after he netted in stoppage time earlier this month.
The forward will now be hoping to carry that club form into his international career and end both his, and his nations, lengthy wait for a goal.
North Macedonia will be looking for a much-improved performance against Slovenia after their heavy defeat to Switzerland.
The fixture could provide an opportunity for Miovski to respond if he is handed another chance by Sedloski.
But with the manager openly admitting that changes are coming, his place in the starting XI is far from certain.
The Rangers striker will discover his fate when Sedloski names his team for the Nations League encounter tonight with the game kicking off at 19:45 GMT.
