Bellingham identifies the secret behind his brilliance and picks out the worst part of the Malaga match
He shone in today's match
Jude Bellingham has revealed the secret behind his brilliant form this season with Real Madrid, and his strong contribution to tonight's 4-0 win over Malaga in La Liga.
The England international has rediscovered his powerful attacking style this season, and he proved it again against Malaga. A superb goal handed Real Madrid the lead, and he played a decisive part in the second too, heading in a cross that goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero turned into his own net.
Speaking to the newspaper "Marca", Bellingham thanked the Bernabeu fans for the warm applause as he left the pitch: "I now feel greater freedom, as I have the freedom to come back and play in an advanced or deeper position as needed. I really enjoy playing, and that is the secret behind my good performances."
He continued: "It is a great honour to play for this club, in this stadium, and with these supporters. The applause was wonderful."
Yet Jude wasn't entirely happy with the display, explaining: "It was a great match, but the last 20 minutes were very poor. I do not know why, but they were not good. Are there changes to the line-up? We have a very strong team, a wonderful team with quality in every position, and when the coach wants to make changes, the players who did not feature in the previous match are fully ready."
Mourinho, unsurprisingly, is delighted with Bellingham's form. The midfielder adds the finishing touch to an attack featuring Vinicius and Mbappe, and he has driven the team forward at the start of this season.
"He is a unique and very important player for the team. He has diverse talents, from the physical to the mental and tactical. He is also able to win the ball back, press effectively, and score goals, especially in the air. He is an amazing player in every sense of the word," the coach said before the Malaga match.
