The Borussia Dortmund striker was just 17 years and 131 days old when he struck in injury time against Chile, with Trusty providing the assist for the landmark goal.

The Celtic centre-back has retained his place in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad despite a difficult start to the domestic campaign, while Hoops teammate Cameron Carter-Vickers remains out of the international picture after injury ruled him out of this summer’s World Cup on home soil.

Trusty was introduced from the bench in the 63rd minute with the score locked at 2-2 before the hosts pulled clear late on.

Chris Richards put the US ahead before Albert made history in stoppage time, with Trusty heavily involved.

Antonee Robinson’s free-kick found the Celtic defender at the back post, where Trusty, which you can see here on X, directed a header back across goal and into Albert’s path.

The teenager headed towards goal and faced an agonising wait before it was confirmed that the ball had crossed the line.

The decision sparked celebrations as Albert secured his place in USMNT history, with Robinson immediately racing over to Trusty to acknowledge the Hoops defender’s contribution.

It continues Trusty’s involvement on the international stage after he was one of two Celtic players, alongside Daizen Maeda, to find the net at this summer’s World Cup.
