Aston Villa sack boss Arroyo after disappointing start to WSL season

Aston Villa Women have parted company with head coach Natalia Arroyo, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

Arroyo had been in charge since January 2025 after previously managing Real Sociedad Femenino, and helped Villa secure their Women’s Super League status at the end of that campaign.

But they sit second bottom of the WSL after four games played having failed to win any of them.

The club have now moved to make a change, with Women’s Technical Advisor Brian Sørensen taking interim charge of first-team affairs.

Sørensen will lead the side on Wednesday when Villa face Newcastle United Women in the Subway Players Cup at Keys Park.
