Arteta hails ‘beautiful’ Arsenal response against Chelsea – and gives update on Mosquera

Mikel Arteta hailed Arsenal’s “exceptional” performance after his side secured a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

The Gunners came from behind after Morgan Rogers’ early goal, with Arteta delighted by the way his players responded and imposed themselves on the game.

“I think it was an exceptional performance,” the Arsenal boss said. “I enjoyed every minute from the beginning to the end.

“The beginning was tough but I enjoyed it because the team reacted in a spectacular way.

“The conviction, the determination, the quality we showed, the intent to hurt them constantly, it was beautiful and it was a fascinating game for the spectators as well.

“I think we deserved to win the game, which I’m really pleased with.”

Arsenal claimed victory without Christhian Mosquera, who was sidelined with a muscle issue.

Arteta is hopeful the defender has avoided a significant injury but says Arsenal will have to wait for further assessment before discovering the extent of the problem.

“He had a muscular issue,” Arteta explained.

“We think it’s not too much but we need to wait and see in the next few days how it evolves.”
