Ange Postecoglou lands first Saudi award after flawless start with Al-Nassr
Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has been named Manager of the Month in Saudi Arabia after making a perfect start to life with Al-Nassr.
The Australian has hit the ground running at his new club, overseeing four wins from four in the league as well as another victory in the Saudi King’s Cup.
It is familiar territory for Postecoglou, who collected six Manager of the Month awards during his trophy-laden two-year spell at Celtic.
However, the former Hoops manager admits he has been taken aback by the intensity of his opening weeks in Saudi Arabia, with Al-Nassr playing five matches in just 15 days.
“We have played five matches in 15 days without sufficient rest periods.
“I have had similar schedules as a manager in the past, but they have all been at the end of a season.
“So I have never faced such a schedule at the beginning of the season.
“We will give the players some rest now and what we have found during the five matches is that we have a good team. My role is to get the best out of the players.”
