Amorim’s list of Milan outcasts includes Nkunku, Tomori and Fofana

Ruben Amorim presented the list of Milan players to be sold, including Christopher Nkunku, Fikayo Tomori and Youssouf Fofana, while Rafael Leao, Pervis Estupinan and Santiago Gimenez wait for the right bid.

The coach wanted the opportunity to evaluate the squad at his disposal during the pre-season tour before making any decisions on transfer strategy.

After a series of poor performances and worse results, culminating in a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, the side returned to base and Amorim met with owner Gerry Cardinale at the Milanello training ground today.

Amorim cuts Milan players loose

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia confirm the list of players Amorim does not see as part of his project includes Nkunku, Fofana, Tomori and defender David Odogu.

Of these names, the big surprise was Nkunku, who had been used fairly regularly in pre-season.

The 28-year-old was only bought last summer from Chelsea for €37m plus up to €5m in add-ons and a percentage of the future sale fee.

Nkunku scored eight goals with three assists in 35 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri, but never quite managed to become a key figure.

It is still somewhat surprising that Amorim considers him to be surplus to requirements.

On top of this list, there are also those who can be sold for the right offer, even if those proposals are not pouring in as much as Milan had hoped.

They include Rafael Leao, Gimenez, and also Estupinan, who Amorim wanted to evaluate and found somewhat lacking in defensive skills.

Aside from the circa €80m spent on Goncalo Ramos from PSG, plus defenders Mario Gila and Sankhoun Diawara, it has otherwise been a very quiet transfer session for the club.
