Jorthy Mokio does not feature on UEFA's published Ajax squad list for the Conference League league phase. The midfielder was initially included on the A list, but he is now classed as a B-list player, as emerged on Friday.

Players born before a certain date and registered with a club for at least two years can go on the B list. Clubs often place youth players on that reserve list to free up space for potential new additions on the A list.

Born in Genk on 29 February 2008, Mokio is not yet on the B list, but Ajax can still add him in the coming weeks.

The Belgian midfielder has been with the Amsterdam club since mid-2024, and this summer is the first time Ajax can move him from list A to list B because he has now been active for the club for two years.

Mainly aimed at players from a club's own academy, the B list covers players born in or after 2005 who have been attached to a club for at least two years. Ajax can submit that list up to one day before their away match against Hajduk Split on 15 October, their opening fixture in the Conference League. UEFA allow clubs to add an unlimited number of players to the B list.

Clubs may register up to 25 players on the A list. They had until Wednesday 2 September at 23:59 to submit it to UEFA. The list must include at least eight so-called 'locally trained players', footballers who were under contract with Ajax for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21.

New signings Thilo Kehrer, Viktor Tsygankov, Diego Pugno and Simon Adingra are all on the A list. That means they are available for Ajax's Conference League matches.
