32-cap Netherlands international is no longer in his club's plans and may leave

Teun Koopmeiners looks to be in his final weeks as a Juventus player. The 28-year-old midfielder no longer figures in Luciano Spalletti's plans and is therefore free to leave, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Two seasons below his expected level have ensured that Koopmeiners no longer belongs in Juventus' plans," the newspaper writes, adding that the Dutchman is now hoping to find a new club.

"In the closing stages of the transfer window, clubs from the Premier League or possibly a club from Serie A could become concrete, playing on his desire for redemption. Turkey also remains an option in the background."

Juventus signed Koopmeiners from Atalanta in the summer of 2024 for more than €58 million. But the former AZ player never really lived up to expectations in Turin.

So far, Koopmeiners has made 90 competitive appearances for Juventus, with 62 of them coming as a starter. He has scored 7 goals and provided 4 assists.

Earlier in August, Calciomercato reported that Aston Villa and Manchester United were both interested in Koopmeiners. Juventus want a fee of around €30 million for the 32-cap Netherlands international.

There is also the possibility of a loan move. In that case, Juventus would want to include an obligation to buy, linked to the achievement of fixed targets.
