10 goals: Ivan Toney breaks his own record with Al Ahli and flies to the top of the scorers' chart

The English striker continues to shine

England striker Ivan Toney has rewritten his Al-Ahli story, netting his tenth goal of the current Saudi Roshn League season.

Al-Ahli hosted Al-Hazm on Friday at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah, in the seventh round of Roshn League fixtures.

Toney struck Al-Ahli's second in the 32nd minute, converting a penalty he won himself.

Deep in first-half stoppage time, the England man grabbed his second and his side's third. The goalkeeper parried a Saleh Abu Al-Shamat shot into his path, and Toney tapped into an empty net.

That took him to ten league goals for the campaign, top of the scoring charts with a full six-goal cushion over his nearest rivals.

The 30-year-old racked up those 10 goals in just the first 7 rounds, his best start with Al-Ahli since joining from Brentford in the summer of 2024.

Compare that to previous campaigns. Toney did not reach ten in 2024-2025 until his 17th match, and last season he hit the mark after 13.

One prize still eludes him. Toney has never been crowned top scorer in Saudi Arabia, finishing runner-up to Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo two seasons ago and to Al-Qadsiah's Julian Quinones last term.
