Reports: Toulouse agree loan deal with Milan for Odogu – the details
David Odogu will have a season on loan in France as AC Milan and Toulouse have reached an agreement, reports claim.
Milan bought Odogu from Wolfsburg for €7m last summer, but his playing time was limited. Now, a move to Toulouse beckons, a club that have links to the Rossoneri through RedBird Capital.
“We would be wrong not to try and explore interesting avenues to create a link between the two entities,” president Olivier Cloarec had declared at the end of 2025. His wish came true a few months later.
Odogu heads to France
According to LesViolets, Odogu is already in Toulouse ready to complete his move, having been training separately at Milan in recent days. The club had been looking for a central defender since the beginning of the summer, even without knowing if Mark McKenzie would leave.
The Ligue 1 side primarily want Odogu to compete with Rasmus Nicolaisen on the left side of the defence, a position where he excelled in his youth. Earlier in the summer, Tobias Guddal was on the verge of joining Toulouse, but the deal fell through. He went to Sparta Prague for €5.5m.
With Wolfsburg, Odogu had only played three Bundesliga matches. Milan therefore signed him based on the potential he had shown in their youth teams, while Anderlecht and Mainz were interested in acquiring him this summer. Fabrizio Romano also confirms the deal with Toulouse.
New German national team coach Jurgen Klopp has also included him in an expanded group of players to be watched for the future of the national team. Odogu was a World Cup and European Under-17 champion with Germany in 2023.
