PSG the 37th ranked team in Europe this season so far – but with major promise on the horizon

PSG have started the season slowly, but are already looking to be building up a bit of steam as the weeks go by.

The international break – especially a long one like this – is a good chance to take a look at a team and how they’ve started the season.

PSG have slow starts almost built in to their model. And this year was no different. By WhoScored’s Average Ratings, they’ve only the 37th best team in Europe’s top 5 leagues through the first five games of the season.

There’s not Khvicha Kvaratskhelia hasn’t been at his best, and Desire Doue also seems to only just be coming to the end of his preseason.

But there seems a lot of optimism that the next block of 5 league games will see PSG pick up more than just 8 points. The big things to look forward to there are the Champions League games against Manchester City and Barcelona in October.
