Paris Saint-Germain vs AS Monaco: Predicted starting lineup for Ligue 1 battle
The Parisians are set to start a very entertaining month of September following a successful transfer window as they prepare to face AS Monaco on Matchday 3 of Ligue 1 McDonald's.
The back-to-back Champions League winners have failed to secure a win in their first two league games and see Les Monégasques lead the Ligue 1 table with six points. They should see the return of Ousmane Dembélé and Joao Neves to the squad for this game, though, they should not be starting.
Here is Les Parisiens' predicted starting XI against Les Monégasques.
PSG Predicted Lineup vs. AS Monaco (4-3-3)
GK: Matvey Safonov - The Russian who had a scare before the game against Lille should be the one starting between the posts for PSG.
RB: Achraf Hakimi - The Moroccan is the only solid option at this position and should start this important game against AS Monaco.
CB: Marquinhos - The Brazilian will likely partner with Willian Pacho against Monaco this weekend. Though, Illia Zabarnyi could start as Paris also prepares for their first Champions League game.
CB: Willian Pacho - The Ecuador international is slowly getting back to his best level after a long season last year.
LB: Lucas Digne - The France international left-back should be starting this game, but he has been quite disappointing and could see either Lucas Hernandez or Warren Zaire-Emery start this game ahead of him.
CDM: Vitinha - The Portuguese maestro will start this game but could see Lucas Beraldo be the pivot if Zaire-Emery were to start at full-back.
CM: Fabian Ruiz - The Spaniard came back from the 2026 World Cup in fine form and PSG fans will hope that he can carry it far into the season.
CM: Warren Zaire-Emery - The Frenchman is the ultimate versatile player and see Luis Enrique trust him in many situations. There is little to no doubt that he will start this game, but in which position is the real question.
RW: Désiré Doué - The Frenchman is one of the rare satisfaction in the offensive sector alongside Ferran Torres. He will be crucial for his side against AS Monaco as PSG hunt for their first league win of the season.
LW: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - The Georgian should be the one starting against current Ligue 1 leaders Monaco in a massive clash.
ST: Ferran Torres - The Spaniard has already scored twice for his new side and will start again against Monaco. Despite his return to the group, Ousmane Dembélé should start on the bench.
