L’Equipe assess PSG’s strongest team for 2026/2027 after busy summer of squad moves

PSG are such a good side that their first team has remained the same despite more than €150m being spent on players this summer.

With the transfer window now closed. L’Equipe have put out a big feature which names the strongest XI of every team in Ligue 1.

Of course in PSG’s case, it’s notable for the fact that nothing has changed at all. The Parians did a lot of business in the summer, but it was all supporting cast. A number of backups went out and a number came in. Sporting director Luis Campos will be happy with the money made and the potential of the new faces to be even better than the old, but for now the starting XI remains the same.

PSG improve depth but keep exceptional first team together

It’s hard to improve on a team that has won back to back Champions Leagues. There really wasn’t any attempt to do so. Goalkeeper is the obvious weakness, but even there the only bids were for Zion Suzuki, who was to be loaned out anyway.

It remains to be seen how good the new faces turn out to be – but there is great hope that they can offer just as much and potentially more than the likes of Goncalo Ramos, Kang-in Lee and Bradley Barcola.
