Latest injury news from France camp affects two PSG stars

PSG have lost a key player to injury – but it doesn’t sound serious, and it gives one of their other stars a chance to take his place.

It’s good news and bad news for PSG in the France camp.

Warren Zaire Emery has been stood down because of a minor injury he’s picked up. But he’s been replaced in new manager Zinedine Zidane’s first squad by summer signing Maghnes Akliouche.

As for Zaire Emery, a follow up report claimed that it’s a minor thigh injury which the versatile academy product picked up in the win over Marseille at the weekend. He played until the end of the game, but clearly had felt something in the intense win over their rivals.

PSG will monitor the youngster’s recovery – and are probably secretly pretty delighted he will get three weeks off to recover rather than potentially playing multiple games for France in this period.

Meanwhile Akliouche, who remains a squad player for Luis Enrique, gets a chance to play more minutes and to impress Zidane in the Nations League games to come.
