New Paris Saint-Germain signing Ferran Torres scored a brace on his competitive debut for his new side, as they drew 2-2 with Rennes.
After the World Cup, in which Torres put the decisive touch on Spain's triumph with the only goal in the final, there was a lot of speculation about the striker's future. PSG were the main side in the mix, while there were also links with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.
The Champions League holders secured the Spaniard in a €50million (£42.8m) deal, and he showed out in his first game since the World Cup final.
Torres was introduced from the bench with PSG 2-0 down in their season opener against Rennes, before completing a brace to end the game 2-2.
Torres made a perfectly-timed run from the pass of Fabian Ruiz for his first goal, slotting the ball between the goalkeeper's legs, before he emerged in the box with a glanced header from a whipped cross, giving Brice Samba no chance as the ball whizzed past him for the Spaniard's second goal.
While he came on off the bench in this game, Torres' immediate returns suggest he shouldn't be doing so for much longer.

Per SofaScore, Torres was the best-rated player on the pitch, along with Rennes keeper Samba, with an 8.6 rating.
Both of the Spaniard's shots found the net, while he also made one key pass, had one progressive carry, and made two interceptions and three recoveries.
Not only was he clinical in front of goal, but the Spaniard showed his worth in winning the ball back for his team - useful traits given he was introduced with his side behind in the game.
After the match, Torres explained: "The match was difficult. It was complicated, we’re not happy because we wanted to win, but it’s important to come away with a point.
"It was special to play my first match in front of the Parisian fans, and it will be even more special at the Parc des Princes."
PSG's first home match of the season is on Friday, September 4, when Monaco visit the Parc des Princes.
