RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has an agreement in place to join Real Madrid for over €100million, confirmed by insider Fabrizio Romano.

After a season of 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Leipzig, and an impressive World Cup, Ivorian winger Diomande found himself on the radar of some top clubs. Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain were the main pair among them.

It was made clear in recent weeks that was he to leave Leipzig, Diomande would choose PSG over Liverpool.

But a move to the French side failed to develop, with Leipzig tiring of them managing to agree to a fee, and Real Madrid shot to the head of the queue.

Diomande's openness to join Real was clear days ago, and they have now agreed to sign him.

Per Romano, there's a deal in place for the transfer for over €100million (£85.5m). Diomande will have his medical with Los Blancos this week ahead of the move becoming official.

While the exact figure is not reported, Romano says it will be 'well in excess' of the aforementioned number, and all of the next steps will happen in the next week.

Florian Plettenberg denies agreement

Both Romano and fellow insider Florian Plettenberg have revealed that PSG exited the race for Diomande.

Romano states that the French giants are 'very upset' by developments with Real and will "not be drawn into inflationary and manipulative games."

Meanwhile, Plettenberg states that while PSG have departed the race, it's not because there's a fee in place with Real, with all parties involved with the transfer confirming as much.

The insider states there is not a fee agreed, and has taken a jab at Romano, stating it's 'pretty obvious' the final fee will be in excess of €100million given an initial offer of that fee was turned down.

Plettenberg states Real are expected to get the deal over the line on Monday, or at the latest during the week, but for now, his verbal agreement over personal terms is the only agreement there is in regards to the move.

Club-to-club negotiations are said to be set to continue, but for now, Diomande will return to Leipzig after the World Cup.
