Real Madrid Transfer News: Olise, Konate and the Potential Bernabeu Incomings Following Perez’s Presidential Success & Mourinho Arrival

Florentino Perez won the Real Madrid presidential election late on Sunday. Perez faced his greatest threat to his position as Enrique Riquelme sought to oust the 79-year-old. Ultimately, the Real Madrid supremo came out on top.

With Perez remaining in charge until at least 2030, and Jose Mourinho expected to return to the Bernabeu helm 13 years after leaving, there is expected to be a raft of new arrivals as Los Blancos look to knock Barcelona off their perch.

Will we see a return to the Galactico-style incomings in the Spanish capital? Will the 2026 summer window rival that of 2009, where Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Kaka and Xabi Alonso all joined?

We’ve assessed the transfer targets now that the dust has settled on the election campaign.

Michael Olise - Bayern Munich

Last week, Perez claimed that he would make a huge offer for a “total Galatico” if he won the election. Well, he’s done just that, and the “Galactico” in question? If reports are to be believed - Michael Olise. Of course, Bayern Munich are keen to retain the Frenchman’s services.

“Michael Olise is a player of FC Bayern with a long-term contract. We are not a selling club. If Florentino Perez wants to send us a bid for Olise - which has not happened so far - he can save himself the trouble,” Bayern President Herbert Hainer said. Real Madrid’s interest, and Bayern’s reluctance to sell, shouldn't come as a surprise.

While the attack isn’t the priority position for Los Blancos, Olise is a world class star that wouldn’t look out of place at the Bernabeu. He registered 19 Bundesliga assists last season and was one of only three players to register double figures for both goals assists in Europe’s top five leagues.

In addition, Olise ranked top for big chances created (27), second for accurate through balls (13) and third for chances created (79) in Germany's top tier last term. He’d bring the magic Real Madrid fans crave.

Ibrahima Konate - Liverpool

With centre-back in need of strengthening following David Alaba’s exit, Real Madrid look to have returned to Liverpool to poach another free agent. Ibrahima Konate had been close to an agreement over a deal at Anfield.

However, the club last month confirmed that the Frenchman would leave Liverpool this summer as Konate follows in Trent Alexander-Arnold’s footsteps to swap Merseyside for Madrid. And to pick up a centre-back of the former RB Leipzig man’s calibre is a huge boost for Los Blancos.

Konate fits the profile of centre-back Real Madrid are keen to land, combining his physical dominance with experience in facing off against the world’s best attackers. A handy distributor, too, the 27-year-old is another astute pick up for the La Liga powerhouse.

Denzel Dumfries - Inter Milan

Another defensive position that requires investment. Trent Alexander-Arnold struggled in his debut season in Spain, and was restricted to just 14 league starts. A return to England has been mooted, but the right-back is keen to continue in Spain.

Dani Carvajal’s exit, though, leaves the Englishman as Real Madrid’s only senior right-back, with the club happy to pay Denzel Dumfries’ €20m release clause to lure him away from Inter Milan as a result. It was a deal that was reportedly approved by Jose Mourinho.

Crucially, the Dutchman offers an alternative option at right-back. While Trent can put the ball on a pin from 50 yards, Dumfries’ athleticism and desire to bombard up and down the flank will help stretch defences. And having played as a wing-back with Inter, the 30-year-old’s arrival grants Mourinho with greater tactical flexibility.

Vitinha - Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain’s pass master has previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Vitinha is vital to the way PSG operate, so Real Madrid would need to cough up a hefty bid in order to convince the French giants to part with the Portuguese possession machine.

Vitinha ranked top for completed passes per 90 (109.1) in Ligue 1 last season and Los Blancos would love to land a midfielder who can afford them that same control not seen in the capital since Toni Kroos retired in 2024.

And with question marks over the future of French pair Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, Real Madrid may need to invest in the middle of the park this summer. Vitinha would be the perfect addition to the midfield, even if he would likely cost upwards of £100m.
