Girona head coach Michel knows his side simply have to beat Elche to avoid relegation from LaLiga.
  • Celta Vigo host Sevilla and will clinch a Europa League place if they avoid defeat

  • Girona need a win at home to Elche to escape the relegation zone

  • Villarreal and Atletico Madrid go head-to-head for third place on Sunday

It is the final weekend of LaLiga and there are still issues to be resolved at both ends of the table even though Barcelona have already retained their title.

Nine of the 10 games take place on Saturday night, with only Villarreal versus Atletico Madrid on the schedule for Sunday, when third place will be decided.

Alaves vs Rayo Vallecano (Saturday, 8pm)

Alaves will be back in LaLiga next season after securing their safety with back-to-back wins over Barcelona and Oviedo.

Vallecano need the win more to help them secure European football should they not beat Crystal Palace in Wednesday's Conference League final and they can stretch their unbeaten run to nine games.

Score prediction: Alaves 0-1 Rayo Vallecano

Celta Vigo vs Sevilla (Saturday, 8pm)

Celta Vigo have picked up only five of their 13 league wins at home, but they should do enough to scramble over the line and claim a Europa League place.

Visitors Sevilla have escaped the relegation battle in recent weeks, but they have lost four of their last five away games.

Score prediction: Celta Vigo 2-1 Sevilla

Espanyol vs Real Sociedad (Saturday, 8pm)

Eleventh plays 10th in an inconsequential final-day fixture and the teams could share a second league draw of the season.

Sociedad have drawn four of their last seven league games while hosts Espanyol have perked up after a long poor run with back-to-back wins.

Score prediction: Espanyol 2-2 Real Sociedad

Getafe vs Osasuna (Saturday, 8pm)

Osasuna need to avoid defeat to be sure of staying up, but they could be thrown into some last-day drama as Getafe are going for a European place.

The visitors from Pamplona have lost four straight games and could come up short again.

Score prediction: Getafe 2-1 Osasuna

Girona vs Elche (Saturday, 8pm)

This is the key match in the relegation battle as 18th-placed Girona must win to stay up, while 17th-placed Elche will survive if they avoid defeat.

Girona have managed only three points from their last seven games and Elche, who won the teams' first meeting 3-0, can edge to safety.

Score prediction: Getafe 0-1 Elche

Mallorca vs Real Oviedo (Saturday, 8pm)

Mallorca need to win and have three other results go their way to get into a head-to-head tie with Osasuna and Elche.

The home side may be able to do their part as Oviedo have not scored in their last four games, but it still might not be enough.

Score prediction: Mallorca 2-0 Oviedo

Real Betis vs Levante (Saturday, 8pm)

Real Betis are locked into fifth place but the match means more to Levante, who are not quite safe from relegation yet.

The visitors have greatly improved their survival chances with three straight wins and can complete the job with an away point.

Score prediction: Real Betis 1-1 Levante

Real Madrid vs Athletic Bilbao (Saturday, 8pm)

Real Madrid have posted two low-scoring wins since their title hopes were extinguished by their El Clasico defeat to Barcelona, but they can finish with a flourish against mid-table Bilbao, who have taken only one point from their last three matches.

Score prediction: Real Madrid 3-0 Athletic Bilbao

Valencia vs Barcelona (Saturday, 8pm)

Valencia are unlikely to qualify for European football next season as they would need to beat champions Barcelona and have other results go their way.

The first part is tricky enough and Barca, who won the teams' first league meeting 6-0, can come out on top again.

Score prediction: Valencia 1-3 Barcelona

Villarreal vs Atletico Madrid (Sunday, 8pm)

The season concludes with what is effectively a third-place play-off between Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.

The home side need to win as a draw would be enough for Atleti to take third on head-to-heads after winning the home clash 2-0 in September.

Villarreal have taken only one point from their last three games and the visitors can pip them at the post.

Score prediction: Villarreal 1-2 Atletico Madrid
