Milan refuse to give up: Amorim reopens the file on Real Madrid star
A new date to try again
Milan are set to reopen one of the attacking files they couldn't resolve during the summer transfer window.
January is the date the illustrious Italian club have pencilled in to return to the negotiating table with one of Real Madrid's stars.
Amorim reveals Milan's strategy
Ruben Amorim faces his first big test as Milan manager against Juventus. He didn't shy away from transfer talk in the pre-match press conference either, confirming a shared vision between himself, Gerry Cardinale and Furlani over what the squad needs.
Amorim said: "I talk to Cardinale and Furlani every day, so it is natural for me to have them there. I am very happy with the transfer window. We have new players of high quality who will help us during the season, as well as in the future. That is our aim. I also want to clarify how Milan works: everyone must be in agreement about the players we want to sign."
Milan had wrapped up the deal for Goncalo Ramos three days before the summer window even opened. The Portuguese striker quickly won the backing of all parties as the first-choice centre-forward.

Ramos closes the door on an alternative deal
Gonçalo Ramos carried a fixed fee of 70 million euros, a figure that left Milan unable to sign a replacement striker permanently over the summer.
True to their commitment to developing young players, Milan renewed Camarda's contract until 30 June 2031, with the option of a further year until 2032. Then they promoted him to serve as the sole backup for the Portuguese striker.
Nothing will change until January at the earliest. That's when the club's working group will carry out a full assessment, drawing on the data gathered across the first four months of the season.

Endrick: the postponed goal
Milan had been working for some time, at least two weeks, on securing a marquee attacking signing. Their choice fell on Endrick, the Brazilian striker born in 2006 who plays for Real Madrid. Cardinale discussed the deal directly with Real Madrid officials, but he ran into a refusal from Jose Mourinho to let the former Palmeiras player leave on loan, a stance that disappointed both Milan and Roma, according to the "Calciomercato" website.
Endrick has yet to feature for Real Madrid as he works through the stages of his injury recovery, but Milan hope to land him in January on loan with an option to buy.
Whether they pull it off will depend largely on how and when Mourinho leans on the Brazilian during the first part of the season.

The beginnings of the rebuilding project: Milan will try again
According to "Calciomercato", Cardinale, Amorim and the working group will try again to sign Endrick, regardless of how the previous attempt panned out.
Milan believe the Brazilian can lead the line as a centre-forward. He can also drop into the deep-lying role behind Gonçalo Ramos.
Endrick is the clearest example of a strategy taking shape inside Milan: reopening files on deals that fell through before. The club reckon their project of building a team capable of competing for and winning titles is still in its early stages.
