Marc Cucurella makes honest Real Madrid admission: ‘Everything is a process’

Marc Cucurella was one of the most exciting players Real Madrid brought into their team during the last summer transfer window. The Merengues, quite surprisingly, landed him even as he was linked with their two main rivals in Spain, FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

This move proved to be quite beneficial for them even before the start of the season, as Cucurella was the only Real Madrid player on the World Cup winning Spanish team. However, his start to life with Los Blancos has been somewhat underwhelming.

In fact, the defender himself admits that he has not been at his best level for the Merengue side. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard appeared in front of the press ahead of the game between Spain and Czech Republic, and talked about his start at Real Madrid.

Cucurella assured that he would give his all to succeed at his new club:

“I have played fewer than 10 matches. There are things to improve, but I’m going to give my all to bring the same version of myself to Madrid that I do with the national team.”

The fullback was confident he will improve as he continues to adapt:

“Everything is a process. With the national team, the core group has been together for many years, and so has the manager. At Madrid, we have just started with a new coach, so it is too early to say.”

The Spanish World Cup winner admitted that his start to life at the Merengue club has not been as expected:

“The start has not been what we all expected, but everything is a process and we will see where we end up.”

Despite his struggles with Real Madrid, Marc Cucurella was once again at his best level when he played for Spain during this international break. This is a clear indication that the defender just needs to adjust to his new team and surroundings before he can start performing at his expected level, and hopefully, this will happen soon as Jose Mourinho would need him in his top form in the coming stretch of the season.
