Speaking to Diario AS after Germany’s match against the Netherlands, as reported by Barcelona News Network, Adeyemi addressed his adaptation, his relationship with Hansi Flick and his ambitions at the club. The comments came from a print interview rather than any club social channel, offering a rare extended look at his mindset barely two months into his Blaugrana career.
Asked about his numbers so far, Adeyemi said he believed he could always give more, but that he was happy with every minute he played, every goal he scored and every victory the team achieved, adding that he wanted to help the team and that Barcelona wanted to win everything. It is a measured response from a player who, by his own admission, is still finding his feet in a new country, one he expanded on when discussing his relationship with Hansi Flick, a coach he already knew from his time in Germany.
Adeyemi was candid that his transition remains incomplete. He said he felt very good but did not think he was fully settled yet, stressing that learning the language mattered to him and that becoming completely at home would take longer than a month or two. Away from the pitch, he described going to the beach and swimming in the sea as the thing he enjoyed most after arriving, while also admitting he liked simply staying at home. He also spoke warmly of the reception from supporters, saying he felt happy and honoured to be at the club and calling the fans’ affection incredible, sentiments that echo the wider expectations around his arrival within Barcelona’s attacking group over the summer.
Barcelona brought Adeyemi in for a fixed fee of €22m plus a further €7m in agreed variables, and his output of three goals and two assists in eight games so far suggests the fee could look modest if his form holds. On Flick specifically, Adeyemi said simply that if the coach was happy, then he was happy too, adding that he works every day to improve and contribute more to the team. Whether that daily effort translates into a settled starting role remains something the season will have to answer, but his stated intent to keep giving more offers a clear marker of what comes next.
