Hamza Abdelkarim sends a fiery message after his first appearance with Barcelona

Egypt's teenage striker Hamza Abdelkarim marked his Barcelona debut in style, with Hansi Flick handing the 18-year-old his first-team bow against Rayo Vallecano. It's a fresh milestone in his rise through the Catalan club, and there are high hopes he'll keep shining alongside the seniors.

Hamza told TV3 after the match: "I am very happy to play my first match, and I hope to achieve more successes in the future," beaming with delight at running out in front of the Barcelona faithful at the Camp Nou.

"There were a lot of people, and I was very excited to go out there," the striker added. "It was a very powerful feeling. I want to experience it again and again."

Ambition drives him too. Hamza is desperate to give everything for the first team, insisting he wants to "help the team as much as possible and win everything" in the months ahead.

Praise flowed for his two forward-line teammates, Brazil's Raphinha and Spain's Lamine Yamal, whom the Egyptian admires for what they bring on and off the pitch.

"He is a wonderful person, and we all know that he always gives his best anywhere on the pitch," he said of Raphinha. Yamal, meanwhile, boasts "magical talent in his feet," Hamza noted, a player who performs for the team and the fans.

The teenager had turned heads during pre-season. He impressed throughout and finished as one of Barcelona's leading scorers, finally earning the reward he'd waited for: a first-team appearance in a competitive match.
