Los Blancos have already enjoyed a very, very impressive summer in the transfer market. Will another mega transfer now follow?

Journalist Ben Fernandes Santos reports that Real Madrid are very interested in Victor Froholdt of Portuguese champions FC Porto. The 20-year-old Dane has a release clause of €85 million in his contract, which runs until 2030.

Last season, Jose Mourinho, the new and old coach in Madrid, spoke very positively about Froholdt while he was in charge at Benfica in Lisbon. The central midfielder only joined Porto in the summer of 2025 from FC Copenhagen for €20 million.

In recent days, Porto president Andre Villas-Boas has been in Madrid. Whether the former star coach held talks there with Real officials is not known.

Victor Froholdt racks up 54 games as a regular starter

Under coach Francesco Farioli, Froholdt was a fixture in FC Porto's midfield last season and often operated as the right-sided number eight. The 20-year-old stands out for his dynamism and strong drive forward.

Across 54 competitive matches, the Dane averaged almost 80 minutes per game, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.

Yan Diomande arrives for a huge fee - Rodri stays away

Already this summer, Real have signed big names: World Cup winner Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva have arrived as experienced, high-class stars.

They have also brought in one of the world's most exciting attacking talents, with Yan Diomande arriving from Leipzig for €125 million.

That said, the record Champions League winners suffered a bitter blow in their pursuit of World Cup star Rodri, who preferred to join arch-rivals Barcelona.
