Aston Villa beat Bologna 3-1 in the first leg in Italy
Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Porto on their travels
Freiburg have one foot in the semi-finals after a 3-0 win over Celta Vigo
The fight to secure a semi-final spot in the Europa League hots up on Thursday with four ties taking place across Europe.
Freiburg and Aston Villa look in commanding positions ahead of ties against Celta Vigo and Bologna, while the fixtures between Real Betis and Braga, as well as Nottingham Forest against Porto, are finely poised.
Celta Vigo vs Freiburg (Thursday, 5.45pm)
Freiburg finished nine places and four points better off in the League Phase than Celta Vigo and they proved that with a routine 3-0 victory last week in Germany.
Celta have now lost three of their last four matches, conceding at least two goals in each of those encounters.
They are winless in four in all competitions and should fall short against a Freiburg outfit that have won four in five.
Score prediction: Celta Vigo 0-2 Freiburg
Aston Villa vs Bologna (Thursday, 8pm)
Aston Villa have already beaten Bologna twice this season in the Europa League and they were able to rack up the goals in Italy last week.
A repeat of their 3-1 success looks likely, as Bologna are usually dangerous on the road.
Vincenzo Italiano's men have won six of their last seven away from home, but they should fall short against Unai Emery's men, who are looking to win their third game in a row at Villa Park.
Score prediction: Aston Villa 3-1 Bologna
Nottingham Forest vs Porto (Thursday, 8pm)
Porto failed to make their positive play count last week in the first leg, but Nottingham Forest only secured a draw due to a bizarre own goal from Martim Fernandes.
While Forest are unbeaten in five at home, they have only won two of their last 10 fixtures and Porto's experience in big European games should be enough for them to progress.
The Portuguese giants have won three in a row away from home and only lost three of their 22 away fixtures this season.
Score prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Porto
Real Betis vs Sporting Braga (Thursday, 8pm)
The first leg proved there is little to separate these two teams, but home advantage should prove decisive for Real Betis.
Betis are winless in four, but they have drawn three on the bounce and Manuel Pellegrini's side are unbeaten in five at home, while it just one defeat in 11 at Estadio de La Cartuja.
Their stubbornness in front of their own fans should be enough to unsettle a Braga side who cannot string results together on the road.
Carlos Vicens' side have not won back-to-back away matches since December and they have lost two of their last four on the road, conceding twice in both fixtures.
Score prediction: Real Betis 2-1 Sporting Braga
