English refereeing line-up confirmed for Milan vs. Benfica Europa League clash

Milan will be in action against Benfica at 20.00 BST on Wednesday evening at their home venue in San Siro. This will be Ruben Amorim’s first European tie since his appointment as head coach earlier this summer.
The refereeing line-up for Wednesday night’s game against Benfica has recently been confirmed: Gillet will be the designated referee, with Englishman Neil Davies and Nick Greenhalgh serving as his assistants and Tony Harrington on fourth official duty.
Stuart Atwell will be the lead video assistant referee and will be assisted by Tomasz Kwiatkowski from Poland.
Gillet has never previously refereed a match involving either Milan or Benfica. In fact, this will be the first time that Gillet has officiated in a UEFA competition.
The 39-year-old began his officiating career in his native Australia before moving to the UK in 2019. He began officiating in Premier League matches at the start of the 2021-22 season.
He has previously been involved in a Champions League qualifier between Shamrock Rovers and Vikingur Reykjavik and Conference League qualifiers involving Dynamo Kyiv and FC Dila Gori, and Aris Thessaloniki and DAC Dunajska Streda, but this will be his first match in the league phase of either the Champions, Europa or Conference League.
