Ipswich Town face Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground for a second time in eight days, having lost 1-0 to the Welshmen in the FA Cup fourth round last week.

The Red Dragons came out on top to set up a tie at home to Premier League Chelsea and will be hoping for another home win when taking on the Tractor Boys in the Championship on Saturday.

Team news

Wrexham will assess Matty James after the midfielder suffered a toe fracture against Millwall two weeks ago. Liberato Cacace is out with a knee injury, while Zak Vyner has an ankle problem.

Lewis Brunt and Aaron James are also sidelined until the end of the month, but goalkeeper Danny Ward is available for selection having last played in August.

Town veteran Ashley Young remains sidelined due to a muscle problem, while Jaden Philogene is out with a knee injury. Marcelino Nunez, who has an ankle issue, is expected to be unavailable, as is Wes Burns.

The Tractor Boys will welcome back Anis Mehmeti who was cup-tied for last week's game, while January signing Dan Neil is expected to keep his place in the starting XI.

The stats

Saturday's fixture will be the first time Ipswich have played a league fixture at the Racecourse Ground following two FA Cup games which took place last week and in January 1995.

Town have the best defence in the Championship, having conceded just 29 times in 30 matches.

Wrexham have failed to win in four Championship home games, last earning three points at the Racecourse Ground when they beat Preston 2-1 in December.

Ipswich are yet to score against the Reds this season, having played more than 180 minutes in league and cup against the Welsh club.

Prediction

Wrexham followed up the 1-0 win over Ipswich in the FA Cup with a 2-2 draw at Bristol City.

While a good result on paper, Phil Parkinson's side conceded an 89th minute equaliser at Ashton Gate and so will be eager to bounce back with a victory.

The Red Dragons are outside the play-offs on goal difference, but now face an Ipswich side who are fourth in the table and eight points off top spot with two games in hand.

Kieran McKenna's squad is full of quality and the Ipswich boss will be expecting a response following last week's disappointing cup exit.

With both sides showing good form, Saturday could see these two sides cancel each other out.

Backing both teams to score may prove a wise pick as six of Wrexham's last nine games have featured both sides finding the net, while Ipswich have scored in every Championship game this calendar year.
