Watford have not won in the Championship since January 1
Swansea currently occupy 16th in the league table
Recommended bet: Both teams to score
Watford sealed an impressive 3-0 win over Birmingham to begin 2026. Since then, however, things have been fairly bleak.
They were dumped out of the FA Cup after a 5-1 thrashing by Bristol City, before losing to Millwall in their next league outing. Two successive 1-1 draws followed, leaving the club in eighth place.
Swansea are nearer the drop zone than the play-offs, but a couple of wins could see them move rapidly up the table.
The Swans lost to Hull last time out in what was their first league defeat since January 4.

Team news
Othmane Maama returned for Watford against Blackburn last week despite doubts about his fitness levels.
Rocco Vata also played against Rovers, making his first start since November and it looks as though he could continue in the team to face Swansea.
The Swans will be missing Adam Idah for the game due to a groin injury, weakening their options in the final third.
Elsewhere, Ethan Galbraith remains a doubt after he came off during the clash against Blackburn last week. He could be replaced by Joel Ward if he fails to prove his fitness.
The stats
These two sides have faced off against each other regularly, both in the Championship and Premier League, since 2015.
Watford have won seven times, while the Swans have claimed victory on six occasions during the same period.
Earlier this season, the clubs drew 1-1 and the reverse clash could also see both teams finding the back of the net once again.
Across Watford’s previous 12 games in all competitions, both teams have scored in eight of those.
This bet would have landed in seven of Swansea’s last 12 matches during the same period.
Both teams have similar defensive records, with Watford conceding 33 goals to Swansea’s 37 in the Championship.
The Vicarage Road outfit, however, have been a far greater threat in front of goal, scoring 39 goals in 28 games.
Swansea, on the other hand, have netted just 32 times in 29 matches, which works out as just 0.9 goals per game.

Prediction
Combined, both teams have won just three games in all competitions in 2026 and this game looks tough to predict a winner.
A draw sounds like a fair result on paper between the two clubs, a result which would suit the home side better.
While the game might be a cagey affair, there could be a few goals in the tie, especially with the attacking and defensive records of both teams.
As such, expect both teams to score in this clash between 8th and 16th in the table.
